Kurze Fakten über email:

Electronic mail is a method of exchanging messages between people using electronic devices. Email was thus conceived as the electronic version of, or counterpart to, mail, at a time when "mail" meant only physical mail. Email later became a ubiquitous communication medium, to the point that in current use, an e-mail address is often treated as a basic and necessary part of many processes in business, commerce, government, education, entertainment, and other spheres of daily life in most countries. Email is the medium, and each message sent therewith is called an email. Email operates across computer networks, primarily the Internet, and also local area networks. Today's email systems are based on a store-and-forward model. Email servers accept, forward, deliver, and store messages. Neither the users nor their computers are required to be online simultaneously; they need to connect, typically to a mail server or a webmail interface to send or receive messages or download it.

Anonymous remailer - An anonymous remailer is a server that receives messages with embedded instructions on where to send them next, and that forwards them without revealing where they originally came from.

Anti-spam techniques - Various anti-spam techniques are used to prevent email spam.

biff - biff is a mail notification system for Unix.

Bounce message - A bounce message or just "bounce" is an automated message from an email system, informing the sender of a previous message that the message has not been delivered. The original message is said to have "bounced".

Dark Mail Alliance - The Dark Mail Alliance is an organization dedicated to creating an email protocol and architecture with end-to-end encryption. In October 2013, Silent Circle and Lavabit announced a project to create a more secure alternative to email and began a fundraising effort.

Disposable email address - Disposable email addressing, also known as DEA or dark mail, refers to an approach which involves a unique email address being used for every contact, entity, or for a limited number of times or uses.
